Hero MotoCorp Plans Flex Fuel Versions Across Its Entire Lineup: A Big Step Towards Greener Mobility
India’s largest two-wheeler manufacturere, Hero MotoCorp, is preparing to intorduce flex fuel versions of all its motorcycle and scooter models, signaling a major shift toward sustainable transportation. The move aligns with the Indian government’s push for alternative fuels and reduced dependence on fossil fuels.
Hero MotoCorp has announced its intention to develop and launch flex fuel variants across its complete product portfolio. Flex fuel vehicles are capable of running on a blend of petrol and ethanol, including higher ethanol concentrations such as E85 (85% ethanol and 15% petrol).
As global emission norms become stricter, manufacturers are exploring multiple pathways toward sustainable mobility. Flex fuel technology provides an additional solution alongside electric mobility.
The company has indicated that the rollout of flex fuel technology will happen in phases over the coming years. While a specific timeline for every model has not been announced, Hero is expected to begin introducing flex fuel variants gradually as the technology matures and ethanol fuel availability expands across the country.
